Spring is here and it's a wonderful time for dogs. New smells and sights to explore, rabbits to chase, walks on sunny days. But, as beautiful as the newly arrived plants and flowers look, there are some that can cause serious illness in dogs when eaten. To keep your home and yard safe for pup, here are some common toxic plants to avoid:
- Lilies, such as the Peace Lily
- English ivy
- Sago palm
- Cyclamen
- Amaryllis
- Schefflera
- Aloe
- Madagascar dragon tree
- Snake plant
- Yucca
- Hosta - all varieties
If your dog chews on any of these plants, ask your vet's advice immediately as to whether your pup should receive medical treatment.
